The disturbing trend of in game advertising continues today when EA and Microsoft's Massive inc. signed a deal to put dynamic ads in several of EA sports and racing franchises. To be affected are such titles as Madden, Need for Speed, NBA Live, and Nascar.
I stick by my convictions that as long as it does not detract from the immersing experience of a game I have no problem with it. However, give EA's empire-like tendencies recently how long do we have before we have cheerleader pushing products during halftime?
